

The eight tip star is the symbol of Songahm Taekwondo. The eight tips of the star symbolize the eight directions, the eight elements of Taoism and, among other things, the eight steps the student has to take to get to the center of the star, that symbolizes the Wisdom, Humility and Balance acquired on the path to the ninth belt, the Black Belt, the begining of the path to Wisdom and Perfection.
The star also symbolizes the path the student does, when he completes all of the Songahm Taekwondo forms (Poomsaes).
The vertical white bar symbolizes the white belt Poomsae.
The yellow square, the orange and yellow belt Poomsaes.
The green square, the cammo and green belt Poomsaes.
The blue square, the purple and blue belt Poomsaes.
The red square, the brown and red belt Poomsaes.
The black squares, all black belt Poomsaes.
