Taekwondo Definition

Taekwondo is martial art of Korean origin which provide a physical and mental growth.

Translated literally the word "TAE KWON DO" we have the following meaning:
"TAE"(Té) it means to jump, fly or crush with the foot;
"KWON"(Quon) it means to hit or crush with the hand or fist;
"DO" (Do) it means the art, shape, path or method;
"DO" it also means the path of mental and spiritual development.

Taekwondo can be translated as "The way of the foot, of the fist and of the mind".

In its whole, the word "TAEKWONDO" refers to a way of fighting without weapons, specifically for self-defence. It is also associated with a lifestyle guided by strength of character, moral values and fair and noble ideals.

What is Taekwondo?

Taekwondo is an instinctive expression in the human struggle for survival.

In Taekwondo, all actions are done through human instinct, as a way of self-preservation, acting as a kind of self-defence.

All of these elements, guided by positive ideals, specific training for each student and with the positive attitude and interest of the student himself, create the potential for the development of a strong and positive posture that transmits to students the self-confidence necessary for their own lifestyles.
